Fashionista Fav Holiday

What's the fashionista's fave holiday? Take your pick of any holidays in December. I'm a Christmas baby, but no matter what the occasion, we're in the season full of gift giving and fun. Gifts can be in any size, shape, or form. They can be simple cards, love letters, pictures, or just a dinner. Then there's New Year's Eve, the biggest party night of the year. So I thought of some cute little things that you may enjoy. Happy Holidays, and hold tight to what you love and loves you back!

Fall into Winter Winners

I fell in love with Fall fashion in the 5th grade. That's when I discovered ankle boots. They were the most adorable clothing items I ever saw. My first pair were purple leather and I wore them out. This Fall the ankle boot remains a staple to the wardrobe. I'm happy to see the many versions of my childhood entry into chic.

School Style Chic

In the middle of class schedules, meal plans, rush week, chemistry labs, and immediately necessary room changes, students have to get dressed in the morning, or whenever they get up. The first thought I have when thinking of college fashion is sweatsuits and the random pajama-pants-to-8am-lecture outfit. But I discovered that there are those trendy, traditional, and transitional styles that keep your eyes following that person on the street. The mix of looks on campus are what I call School Style Chic.

School Style Chic involves mixing a variety of pieces that combined give a look that can be comfortable, professional, fun, or sophisticated. There are those who spend the little extra on their fav designer labels, but what fits the majority of the student body involves easy style. So far this description is about the 'School' side. But the 'Chic' usually comes from small details. Usually a tote bag in bright designs, graphic tee, boots, or even a new VAIO or jewel toned iPod Touch. Spring/Summer time is the usual parade of colorful flip flops, spaghetti straps, and graphic sneaks. Fall/Winter brings out the neon scarves, pastel puffer jackets, plaid full length coats, and paisley colored boots.

Since most college students operate on a limited budget, it is natural to assume that major creativity comes into play when trying to stay fashionable. All in all achieving Student Chic is just another part of the college experience. That, and trying to fit all of the Rugby House parties into the semester ;)

For all blogposts, be sure to check out some of my fav pics from some of my fav designers!

(Much Thanx to Aeisha, Jayson, Takida, and George for sharing their style :)

Hello Loves!

Congratulations!
You've just entered a celebration of my introduction into the Fashion Blogging Universe! As the title suggests, this is going to be a blog about fashion that I see around my neighborhood. The variety of couture will run from the uber-stylistic Valentinos to the uber-creative daily fashions. Im a big believer in pix, vids, and fashion innovations, so be ready to see a little bit of it all! I will include fashion spotlights from friends with their fav looks, trends, or products. I live in the one state represented by a clothing item, Michigan. With a state shaped as a cute mitten I have to wonder why Michigander style isn't more represented. There is such a fun mix of cultures from across the state. College campuses especially seem to reflect a virtual United Nations of fashion. Whether motivated by religion, trends, finances, or the search for chic, Michiganders present so many fun fashion styles. This blog will be about Michigan style, but I will include blogposts, vids, and pix of well known designers and collections. So wish me luck and enjoy the tour!
